BIOGRAPHY
Nikolay Dimitrov (Nicox) is a Bulgarian DJ and producer. He took his first steps in music in 2002 when he started sampling hip-hop tracks. Later, he realized this wasn't his style and began listening to dance and electro music, such as Benassi Bros. In 2005, he started making mixes for fun. In 2007, he recorded his first set in the Progressive House style and shared it on the internet. The community's positive feedback gave him the confidence to continue his work. Later, he started working as a DJ in a local club. In October 2008, he produced his first track without samples. In 2009, he began making serious efforts to create better tracks that he could release. He produced many tracks, some for fun (including remixes of songs he liked) and some for digital labels. With a lot of advice from his producer friends and support from DJ ICO remixes, he released his first EP "Town of Lost Sound" in January 2010. The release's style was Tech House. His second release "Bang Bang" came out in April 2011 and was an attempt in a Minimal style. Meanwhile, he won a remix contest for the Brazilian label MDS Digital. The style of this remix and the next five was a mix of Techno and Progressive House. At the same time, he made a few remixes of songs he loved, gradually transitioning to the Nu Disco style, which was very popular at the time. After a few years of silence, right before the pandemic, he started a podcast named "Late Night Addiction" where every month he present the latest club bangers. During the radio show he decided to start producing again, reverting to Tech House and his vision of club bangers. After releasing a few free remixes of songs he liked, he decided it was time to prioritize in original production. After facing several rejections and many unlistened demos from labels, he decided to start his own label called on his podcast - "Late Night Addiction" and began publishing his tracks.
